Paradise Pool Boy

Deep beneath the Black Rock Desert, the Atomic Octopus woke from a long summer nap. First, its brass gears clicked. Next, purple lights flashed across its metal shell. Finally, eight giant tentacles pushed through the dusty playa. The Atomic Octopus wanted a new Occo Mundi adventure. However, the northern Nevada air had grown chilly. Therefore, it turned south toward sunny Las Vegas. He was also thinking about hydration. Today he would become the Paradise Pool Boy.

Paradise Pool Boy

For hours, the great machine crossed the Nevada desert. Along the way, jackrabbits watched from the sagebrush. Ravens followed overhead, while clouds of dust rolled behind its heavy tentacles.

By noon, the Atomic Octopus reached Paradise, just off the Las Vegas Strip. Bright signs sparkled nearby. Even so, the machine noticed something better than casinos or flashing lights.

It found a swimming pool.

“Today,” it announced, “I shall become the Paradise Pool Boy!”

First, the Atomic Octopus lowered one careful tentacle into the water. The pool felt cool and fresh. Then, it placed a huge rainbow unicorn floatie on the surface. Although the floatie squeaked loudly, it held the heavy machine.

Soon, the Paradise Pool Boy floated beneath the hot sun. Four tentacles dangled in the water. Two others paddled in slow circles. Meanwhile, another tentacle held a tall blue cocktail with a tiny umbrella. The last one carried a bright pink drink with a slice of lime.

“This is excellent,” the Atomic Octopus said to his friend with the cool tattoo.

Before long, it discovered the pool jets. As a result, the unicorn spun around and around. Water splashed over the edge, and the Atomic Octopus laughed like a steam whistle.

Later, it played games with the pool toys. First, it balanced a beach ball on one tentacle. After that, it used three other tentacles to create a giant fountain. Finally, it relaxed beside the warm spa and watched palm trees sway.

As sunset approached, the sky turned pink and gold. Lights from the Strip began to glow. Nevertheless, the Atomic Octopus stayed in the pool for one final float.

The Paradise Pool Boy raised its cocktail toward the evening sky.

“Here is to sunshine, unicorns, and grand adventures!”

Then it smiled behind its round goggles. Clearly, this Occo Mundi adventure had gone swimmingly.

Another fun use for the tools is proving to invent a backstory or add some words to dress things up.
