Deep beneath the Black Rock Desert, the Atomic Octopus rested in its secret home. As its gears clicked softly, it remembered an Occo Mundi adventure from last winter. By then, the great machine had seen many wonders. It had watched the sunset at the Grand Canyon. It had cheered at a Formula One race in Qatar. Moreover, it had gotten to pilot a flying saucer at Area 51 and climbed snowy Mount Everest. However, becoming the famous octopus in Moscow had brought a different kind of adventure.

On that cold morning, the Atomic Octopus climbed out of the Nevada dust. Next, it opened a hidden silver balloon above its head. Soon, strong winds carried the machine across mountains, forests, and a frozen ocean.
Several days later, it landed in Moscow. Snow covered the streets, while colorful church domes rose above the city. Immediately, people pointed toward the sky.
“Look! There is an octopus in Moscow!”
The Atomic Octopus waved four tentacles. Then it marched toward the Kremlin, leaving eight winding trails in the snow.
Before long, it reached Red Square. The Kremlin’s red walls stretched beside the machine. Meanwhile, the famous clock tower stood above the snowy stones. The Atomic Octopus admired every brick, star, and golden dome.
However, the long trip had made it thirsty. Therefore, it found a little table and ordered a daytime drink.
A friendly server brought vodka and several tiny glasses. In addition, she served warm blini, red jam, and a small dish of caviar.
“Cheers!” boomed the Atomic Octopus.
First, it poured one tiny drink. Then it raised three more glasses with careful tentacles.
“To Moscow! To friendship! And to grand adventures!”
Nearby visitors laughed and raised their cups. Soon afterward, musicians began playing a lively tune. As a result, the Atomic Octopus tapped a cheerful beat against the stones.
Later, one drop of jam landed on its goggles. While the machine cleaned it away, another tentacle knocked over the caviar. Fortunately, a bold pigeon caught every bite.
By afternoon, snow began to fall. Therefore, the Atomic Octopus switched to hot tea and watched snowflakes sparkle in its blue lights.
Now, beneath the Black Rock Desert, it smiled at the memory. Moscow had felt different from Everest, Qatar, Area 51, and the Grand Canyon. Even so, each journey had offered new sights, new friends, and another wonderful story.
Then its lights dimmed, and the Atomic Octopus dreamed of its next Occo Mundi adventure.
Another fun use for the tools is proving to invent a backstory or add some words to dress things up.
